Delete your Syncer account

Last updated: September 18, 2026

This page explains how to request permanent deletion of your Syncer account and the data associated with it, what is removed, what is kept, and the recovery window before deletion becomes final. Syncer is operated by Burgeon Tech Pvt. Ltd.

Your clipboard content is end-to-end encrypted and never stored on our servers in readable form — we only relay opaque encrypted blobs that are deleted on delivery. Deleting your account removes the account record and the encrypted material tied to it, as described below.

How to request deletion

The quickest way is right inside the app:

  1. Open Syncer and go to Settings → Account.
  2. Tap Delete account and confirm.
  3. Your account is disabled immediately and enters a 15-day recovery window. After 15 days, the account and the data listed below are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

To cancel within the 15-day window, simply sign back in to Syncer on any device — the app detects the pending request and offers to restore your account.

Can’t open the app?

If you’ve already uninstalled Syncer or can’t sign in, email us and we’ll process the deletion for you:

Send it from your account email address with the subject “Delete my account”. We reply to the same address to confirm, then delete the account — the same 15-day recovery window applies.

Delete specific data without closing your account

You don’t have to delete your whole account to remove data. Inside Syncer you can:

  1. Delete your encrypted backup — go to Settings → Backup → Delete backup and confirm with your PIN. This erases the encrypted backup blob stored on our servers. Your account and paired devices are unaffected.
  2. Clear your clipboard history — on the Home screen, open the selection menu and choose Delete all. History lives only on your device, so this clears it there.

What happens to the data:

  • Deleted: the server-side encrypted backup blob, and — for a history clear — the clipboard items on that device. These are removed immediately and are not recoverable.
  • Kept: your account (email, name) and paired devices stay active so sync keeps working. Any undelivered relay blobs still auto-expire after 7 days on their own.

To delete your entire account instead, see the steps above.

What is deleted when you close your account

When account deletion becomes permanent, we erase the following data associated with your account:

DataWhat happens
Account recordYour email address, your name, and account preferences are deleted.
Devices & keysAll paired-device registrations, device names, and per-device encryption key material (keyring) are deleted, ending sync for the account.
Encrypted backup blobsAny PIN-protected encrypted backup stored for your account is deleted. (We never hold the PIN or the key.)
Undelivered relay blobsAny pending encrypted clipboard payloads are deleted. (Delivered payloads are already removed on delivery, and all relay data auto-expires after 7 days regardless.)
Sign-in & session recordsOne-time sign-in codes and session/refresh tokens tied to your account are deleted.

What is kept, and for how long

  • On-device clipboard history lives only on your own devices, never on our servers. It is not something we can delete for you — remove it by clearing history in the app or by uninstalling Syncer from each device.
  • Anonymous, aggregate diagnostics (opt-in usage analytics and crash/performance data) are not linked to your identity and contain no clipboard content, email, or keys. Because they cannot be tied back to you, they are retained in aggregate and are not part of an individual account deletion.
  • Minimal operational logs needed to run the service and prevent abuse contain no clipboard content; they are rotated out on a short schedule.
  • Where we are required to retain limited records to comply with applicable law, we keep only what the law requires, for no longer than required.
