Terms of Service
Last updated: September 4, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Syncer. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Syncer.
On this page
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Syncer, you confirm that you can form a binding contract, that you are at least the minimum age described in our Privacy Policy, and that you accept these Terms and that policy. If you use Syncer on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.
2. Description of the service
Syncer is a cross-platform clipboard sync service for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android. It relays your clipboard content between your paired devices in encrypted form and offers on-device clipboard history, and — where you enable it — optional encrypted backups. Clipboard content is end-to-end encrypted on your device before transmission; our servers relay opaque encrypted data and delete relay payloads after delivery.
3. Your account
- An account (using an email one-time code, Google, or Apple sign-in) is required so your devices can find and authenticate one another.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, your sign-in method, and the devices you pair.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Syncer to:
- store, sync, or transmit content that is illegal, or that infringes the rights of others;
- abuse, overload, disrupt, or attempt to circumvent the relay, rate limits, or security of the service;
- reverse-engineer, probe, or attack the infrastructure except as expressly permitted by our responsible-disclosure process on the Security page;
- resell or provide the service to third parties except as expressly permitted;
- use the service in violation of applicable laws or regulations.
Because clipboard content is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot review it. You are solely responsible for the content you copy and sync. We may suspend accounts that we reasonably believe are abusing the service or violating these Terms.
5. Encryption, keys & your PIN
The end-to-end encryption model means you control the keys. We cannot recover your clipboard content or your encrypted backups on your behalf, because we never hold the keys or your PIN.
You are responsible for the security of your own devices and encryption keys, and for remembering your backup PIN. Please understand plainly:
- Your PIN never leaves your device, and we cannot see it or reset it.
- If you lose your PIN and lose access to all of your paired devices, your encrypted backup is permanently unrecoverable. This is a direct and intentional consequence of end-to-end encryption — there is no backdoor.
- Keep at least one device paired, and store your PIN somewhere safe.
6. No warranty
Syncer is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that clipboard data will always be delivered or retained.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Burgeon Tech Pvt. Ltd. and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) Syncer. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
8. Availability & changes to the service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Syncer at any time, including features, plans, and pricing. Syncer is under active development; features described on our site may change. We will use reasonable efforts to communicate material changes, but are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
If you purchase a Lifetime license or lock in founder pricing, we will honor that entitlement — the Pro feature set without a recurring subscription — for as long as we operate Syncer as a service, subject to reasonable fair-use limits on cloud sync and storage. "Lifetime" refers to the operational lifetime of the service, not a perpetual guarantee independent of it; if we ever discontinue Syncer entirely, we will give reasonable advance notice.
9. Termination
You may stop using Syncer and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or other users. On termination, your right to use the service ends; account deletion follows the retention and soft-delete process described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as liability limits and governing law) will survive.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts located in Nepal will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the service, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your place of residence.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of Syncer after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
